A last minute opprotunity popped up during the week to ride shotgun in a clients Mustang Fastback on a charity drive on Sunday, and as I was both free and had empty memory cards, I was quite keen to join in.
As it turns out even though the carby had been rebuilt during the week, this particular Mustang ran less like a horse and more like a pig, and even though we did make it to the event start, executive decisions were made that maybe I should follow along in my car just in case. The best made plans occasionally need to be tweaked, and after a short walk home, we made it to the final rendezvous at Ocean View Winery in my car. The American muscle was left behind in The Gap and we drove the 80km (50mi) in a French hot hatch, not exactly the classic car type required.
And now for some happy snaps.
Classic cars and dressing up in period garb is expected, I did find a tie that didn’t clash too much with my pink striped shirt, and managed to put on my favourte cufflinks all by myself. (Titanium bolts from a Jaguar Formula One V10)
Turns out I never had enough time to eat anything, but I did get a can of Coke for my troubles.
